Captions for Facebook videos
Most Facebook video plays start silent in the feed. Give your speech a place on screen in the language your audience speaks, styled or as a plain subtitle file.

Burned in or uploaded as a file
Facebook can show captions from a subtitle file you upload with a video, which viewers can switch on and off. Captions burned into the MP4 always show, in your own style, including on Reels and when the video is shared on. EasyCap prepares either from the same corrected transcript.
How it works
- 1
Choose the video
Open the video in the editor and select its spoken language. Portrait suits Reels; landscape or square suits feed videos.
- 2
Check the captions
Correct words and timing. For a regional audience, pick the native script or Roman letters to match how your followers write.
- 3
Export for Facebook
Download an MP4 with captions drawn in, or, on a paid plan, an SRT file to add on Facebook's upload screen. You post the video yourself.
Check the file name Facebook expects
Facebook's upload screen may ask for the caption language, or for a particular file name format. Follow the instructions on that screen when you add the SRT.
Write for the feed
Feed viewers decide in the first seconds. Make sure the opening line is correct and easy to read, since it is what gets the next second of attention.
Square and 4:5 frames
Feed videos are often square or 4:5. Choose the frame in EasyCap before exporting so captions sit inside the visible area.
Find your language and your look
Explore Hindi captions, Bengali captions, Malayalam captions, or browse all supported caption languages. Choose from animated caption templates and check current plans and export options before starting a longer project.
Questions before you start
Can I upload an SRT file to Facebook?
Yes. Facebook lets you add a subtitle file to a video. Download SRT from EasyCap on a paid plan and add it when you upload or edit the video on Facebook.
Do captions work on Facebook Reels?
Burned-in captions always show on Reels because they are part of the video. Export an MP4 with captions from EasyCap and upload it as a Reel.
Does EasyCap post to my Facebook Page?
No. EasyCap exports files. You upload the video, and the subtitle file if you use one, through Facebook.
Can I caption in Bengali or Malayalam?
Yes. Bengali, Malayalam and the other supported Indian languages work, each in its own script.
